  • Gingerbread House competition:                                                                                                

    Rules, Information and Entry Form

    Gather together with family and friends and have fun planning and creating your entry for the Gingerbread House Contest. Use your imagination and skill to build a classic house, or something unique like a barn, lighthouse, or log cabin. Possibilities are endless.

     Contest Rules:

    • Design, make/bake, and decorate your “gingerbread” creation.
    • Entry base must be no larger than 15” x 15,” and the base must be of sturdy material, such as plywood, heavy cardboard, baking sheet, cutting board.
    • Entire display, except for the base, must be made of edible materials. Royal Icing works the best for “gluing,” and will not turn rancid.
    • All houses must be complete before arrival.
    • No store-bought kits please!
    • One entry per person or group.


    • Please drop off your entry at the Library, December 5 between 1 pm and 7 pm, or December 6 between 10 am and 4 pm. Please fill out an entry form when dropping off your creation.
    • Voting by the public will run from December 9 through December 13 at 4:00 pm.
    • Winners will be announced at noon on Saturday, December 14. Entrants do not need to be present to win.
    • Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category.
      • Categories are as follows:
        • Youth Ages 12 and under
        • Teen Ages 13 to 17
        • Adult Ages 18 and over
        • Family/Group 2 or more people

     All entries not picked up by December 18 will be discarded.
